Terms of Service

Last updated: 14 September 2026

1. Scope and provider

These terms apply to WopCart plans and services offered on wopcart.com by WopCart.com, operated by C. Badde, sole trader, Triq il-Marfa, Bay Blue 2, MLH9065 Mellieha, Malta, VAT MT24104415 (“we”). We sell to both consumers and businesses. These terms apply to both unless a section says otherwise. A consumer is a person who buys mainly for purposes outside their trade, business or profession. A business customer is anyone else.

2. Definitions

  • Plugin: the WopCart WordPress plugin.
  • Free plan: use of the Plugin without a plan key, with payments routed through our Stripe Connect platform.
  • Paid plan: a yearly plan or a lifetime plan. Each paid plan provides a plan key.
  • Yearly plan: a paid plan billed once a year that renews automatically until you cancel it.
  • Lifetime plan: a paid plan bought with a one-time payment. Its plan key never expires and includes updates and the plan check for as long as we offer WopCart. “Lifetime” refers to the lifetime of the WopCart service, not the buyer’s life.
  • Plan key: the key that switches a site to a paid plan.
  • Domain slot: one production domain on which a plan key is active.
  • Platform fee: the share of each transaction retained on the free plan.

3. The Plugin and the GPL

The Plugin is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under that license. These terms govern plans, plan keys and our services, not the license of the Plugin’s code. As the GPL states, the Plugin’s code is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, to the extent permitted by law.

4. Free plan and platform fee

On the free plan, payments in your store are created through our Stripe Connect platform as direct charges on your own connected Stripe account. We retain a platform fee of 2% of each transaction. Stripe’s processing fees are charged separately by Stripe. Available gateways: Stripe and Apple Pay. You are the merchant of record and responsible toward your customers, including for taxes, refunds and chargebacks. Your use of Stripe is also subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement and Stripe’s other terms.

We may change the platform fee. We will tell you by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. The new fee applies only to transactions after that date. If you do not agree, you can stop using the free plan or move to a paid plan before the change takes effect.

5. Paid plans

A paid plan removes the platform fee and allows the use of your own gateway accounts (Stripe, PayPal, Authorize.net, 2Checkout; Apple Pay through Stripe). The Plugin’s features are the same on all plans.

PlanPrice per year (yearly plan)One-time price (lifetime plan)Production domainsWopCart platform fee
1 site$50$8010%
10 sites$99$150100%
100 sites$200$2801000%

Lifetime plans. A lifetime plan is paid once and does not renew. Its plan key never expires and includes updates and the plan check (section 12) for as long as we offer WopCart. “Lifetime” refers to the lifetime of the WopCart service, not the lifetime of the buyer. A lifetime plan can still end if you withdraw (section 10) or if its plan key is deactivated after a serious breach (section 13). If we stop offering WopCart, we will tell lifetime plan holders by email at least 12 months in advance.

6. Prices and payment

Prices are in US dollars: per year for yearly plans, and a one-time price for lifetime plans. For consumers in the EU, VAT at the rate of their country is added to the price at checkout. Business customers in the EU with a valid VAT identification number, checked with VIES, are charged no VAT under the reverse charge. Customers outside the EU are not charged VAT. Payment is due at purchase and, for yearly plans, at each renewal.

You pay through Stripe Checkout. Accepted payment methods include credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link and other methods that Stripe offers in your country.

7. Term, renewal and cancellation

A yearly plan runs for one year from purchase. It renews automatically for another year, and the renewal price is charged to your saved payment method, unless you cancel before the renewal date.

You can cancel a yearly plan at any time in your account under My account. After you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the year you have paid for and then does not renew. Cancelling does not lead to a partial refund. When a plan ends, the site returns to the free plan.

If we change the price of a yearly plan, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before your next renewal. The new price applies from that renewal. You can cancel before then.

A lifetime plan has no renewal and nothing to cancel. It runs as described in section 5. Later price changes do not affect lifetime plans already bought.

8. Domains

  • Each production domain where the plan key is saved uses one domain slot.
  • Local and staging sites do not use a slot. By default, up to 3 of them can be active on one key at the same time.
  • Local sites include localhost, private IP addresses and addresses ending in .local or .test. Staging sites include subdomains such as staging., dev. or test. and common hosting staging domains.
  • You can remove a domain in your wopcart.com account to free its slot and use the key on another site.
  • Removing the plan key from a site’s settings also releases that site’s slot.
  • Your plan and plan key are personal. They belong to the person or company that bought them.
  • You may use your plan key on your own domains and on domains of third parties, for example sites you build or run for clients. You remain the plan holder and are responsible for how the key is used on those sites.
  • You may not transfer, sell or pass on your plan key to another person or account. You can move a plan between domains as described above.

9. Plan changes

  • Yearly upgrades: moving a yearly plan to a yearly plan with more domains takes effect immediately. The prorated difference for the rest of the current year is charged at once.
  • Lifetime upgrades: moving a lifetime plan to a lifetime plan with more domains takes effect immediately. You pay the difference between the two lifetime prices.
  • Downgrades of a yearly plan take effect at your next renewal. You keep your current plan until then.
  • Plan changes are not refunded or credited.

10. 14-day right of withdrawal

We give every customer, consumers and business customers alike, a 14-day right of withdrawal for the purchase of a paid plan, whether yearly or lifetime. It applies even though your plan key is delivered immediately and even if you have already activated it.

Your right. You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period ends 14 days after the day the contract is concluded. To withdraw, send us a clear statement, for example by email to [email protected] or by post to WopCart.com, C. Badde, Triq il-Marfa, Bay Blue 2, MLH9065 Mellieha, Malta. You may use the model form below, but you do not have to. It is enough to send your statement before the withdrawal period ends.

Effects of withdrawal. If you withdraw, we refund all payments received from you without undue delay and at the latest within 14 days of receiving your statement. We use the same payment method you used, unless you expressly agree otherwise. You will not be charged any fees for the refund.

Your plan key is revoked. When you withdraw, we revoke the plan key. All sites that use it return to the free plan, including the 2% platform fee on payments made through our Stripe Connect platform (section 4). Your WordPress sites, the Plugin and your store data remain unaffected.

An automatic renewal continues your existing contract and does not create a new right of withdrawal. Your statutory rights, for example if the product is faulty or not as described, are not affected.

11. Refunds

  • Plan changes: upgrades and downgrades never result in a refund or account credit. A yearly upgrade charges only the prorated difference for the rest of the current year, a lifetime upgrade charges the difference between the two lifetime prices, and a downgrade of a yearly plan takes effect when the year you already paid for has ended.
  • Cancellation: if you cancel a yearly plan, it runs until the end of the paid year. There is no refund for the unused part of the year.
  • Withdrawal: if you withdraw within 14 days in line with section 10, you receive a full refund and your plan key is revoked. After the 14 days, paid plans, yearly or lifetime, are not refunded.
  • Our errors: if we charge you by mistake, for example twice for the same plan, we refund the incorrect amount.
  • Free plan platform fee: when you refund a buyer in your store, the 2% platform fee on that transaction is not refunded. We refund it only if the refund was caused by an error on our side or by fraud.
  • Your statutory rights, for example if the service is faulty or not as described, are not affected.

A plain-language summary is on our page Plan changes, domains and refunds. If it differs from these terms, these terms apply.

12. Availability of the plan check

Sites on a paid plan confirm their plan with wopcart.com about twice a day. If wopcart.com cannot be reached, a site keeps its paid plan for up to 14 days. We aim to keep wopcart.com and the plan check available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, network problems and events outside our control can cause interruptions.

13. Your obligations

You provide accurate account and billing information and use plans in line with the law and these terms. In particular, you agree:

  • to keep your plan key confidential and not to publish, share or sell it;
  • not to bypass or manipulate the plan check, domain counting or platform fee through our services, for example by misreporting site addresses;
  • not to use our Stripe Connect platform for goods or services that Stripe prohibits, or for unlawful purposes;
  • not to overload or attack wopcart.com.

These rules apply to plan keys and our services. They do not limit your right under the GPL to use, study, modify and share the Plugin’s code. If you seriously breach these rules, we may suspend or deactivate the plan key concerned after giving you notice, unless immediate action is needed to prevent harm.

14. Warranty and liability

Plugin code. The Plugin’s code is provided under the GPL “as is”, without warranty, as described in section 3.

Plans and services. We provide paid plans and the plan check with reasonable skill and care. Consumers have the statutory rights that apply to digital content and digital services, and these terms do not limit them.

Unlimited liability. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, for fraud, or where liability cannot be limited by law.

Limited liability. In all other cases, we are liable only for damage that was typical and foreseeable when the contract was concluded. For business customers, our total liability in each 12-month period is also limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event that caused the damage. We are not liable to business customers for lost profits, lost revenue or lost data, as far as the law allows.

Compatibility with third-party software. WordPress sites combine software from many providers. We do not warrant that the Plugin or a paid plan works with any particular theme, plugin, hosting environment or external service. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for damage caused by an incompatibility with third-party software, including lost sales and orders or purchases that could not be completed because of such an incompatibility. This does not affect our unlimited liability described above. You can test the Plugin on the free plan and use the 14-day right of withdrawal under section 10.

You are responsible for backing up your site and data.

15. Data protection

We process personal data as described in our privacy policy.

16. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms when our services or the law change. For paid plans and the free plan, we will send you the changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel a yearly plan before the changes take effect, or stop using the free plan. Changes do not reduce what an existing lifetime plan includes under section 5. If you continue after that date, the new terms apply. Changes that are only in your favour, or required by law, can take effect sooner.

17. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms and all contracts concluded under them are governed by the laws of Malta, for consumers and business customers alike. Where the law requires it, consumers keep the protection of mandatory consumer law of the country where they live. The courts of Malta have jurisdiction as far as the law allows; consumers in the EU can also bring claims in the courts of the country where they live.

18. Final provisions

If any provision is invalid, the remaining provisions stay in effect. We are not obliged and not willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. Contact: [email protected].
